Questions, cleared up.
Everything you might want to know about drone-powered exterior cleaning. Don't see your question? We're a call away.
Is drone cleaning actually safe for my building?
Yes — and it's safer than the alternative. Because no worker ever leaves the ground, we eliminate the leading cause of jobsite injury entirely. The Apellix platform uses a calibrated, targeted high-pressure nozzle and operates entirely hands-off — the drone never makes physical contact with the structure — so your glass, stone, stucco, brick and metal are cleaned without damage.
What surfaces can you clean?
Glass, stone, stucco, brick and metal panel facades; photovoltaic solar panels; billboards and signage; and storage tanks and industrial structures. If it's an exterior surface a traditional crew would need a lift or scaffold to reach, we can almost certainly reach it from the air.
What cleaning solutions do you use?
We use Citra-Shield, a biodegradable, EPA-compliant cleaning solution that's safe for tenants, runoff and the surrounding environment. For solar panels and glass we use a precise, deionized-water clean that leaves a spot-free, residue-free finish without damaging cells or coatings.
Will solar cleaning really improve output?
Dirty panels lose up to 30% of their output. Our deionized-water clean restores energy production without damaging the photovoltaic cells or voiding manufacturer warranties — which means the cleaning often pays for itself in recovered generation.
Do you need permits or lane closures?
In most cases, no. One of the biggest advantages of drone cleaning is eliminating boom lifts, scaffolding, traffic permits and lane closures. Our FAA Part 107 certified pilots handle any airspace requirements, so projects complete with minimal disruption to you and the area around you.
Are you licensed and insured?
Absolutely. Every flight is operated by an FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot, and Drone Shine carries full commercial insurance. You're covered, and so are we.
What areas do you serve?
We're headquartered in Orlando and serve clients throughout Florida — including Tampa, Jacksonville, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and surrounding metropolitan areas. If you're in Florida, we can likely deploy to you.
How do I get a quote and what happens next?
Send us your property details through the contact page or give us a call. We'll review the structure, surface type and height, then return a fixed-scope quote within one business day. From there we map a flight plan, complete the cleaning pass, and deliver before-and-after photo documentation with the finished job.
